Fact: Green rooms are always green.

I'm not sure why, but when a green room actually is green, I get annoyed. It's like the painter was unsuccessfully trying to be clever. Even as I write this, I'm coming to the conclusion that if the room wasn't green, I probably be more annoyed at it being not green. Because now I know that painter was really an asshole.

I can just see him hanging out with his painter buddies, trying to convey the irony of how he just painted a comedy club's green room orange. They're all laughing it up, thinking he is the funniest person they've ever met in the painting industry. Then, over an after-work joint, they encourage him to do stand up, which he seriously considers. Fuck'n painters.

This is funny and I want to laugh, but then again I'm facing the reality that I'm not funny enough to get into the green room. I'll always be stuck in the room with the brick wall or a backdrop of a city or a shitty theatre turned comedy club that will probably close down soon.

  2. Ahhh Joshie,
You are funny enough! I haven't been in many green rooms either. One of us from our group will be famous one day, and then we'll be doing lots drugs in green rooms. You just wait!

  3. When I did a show with the People's Republic of Komedy up in Seattle, the green room was red. Again...not all that ironic...
